Hong Kong Side Trip: Macau (Part Dois)

Read Macau Part Um.

(Um and Dois is Portuguese for "one" and "two". Love, Pretense.)

The Venetian Macau is very gold. Like King Midas crawled all over the place.

It is a luxury hotel and casino ran by Las Vegas Sands. (There is a Sands Hotel back in Macau Peninsula; Venetian Macau is on the island of Taipa; don't get confused.)

J kept talking about the Venetian's ceiling painted like the sky, but I can't picture it in my head. He said I even looked a bit bored walking with him to the shops.

But he laughed out loud when we got here and I said a very tita Ay ang ganda!

It was very beautiful.

J sat down to rest, and I went in and out of the shops, spritzing myself with perfume testers and ruining peoples' selfie shots.

We walked some more to get to the food court.

Have I told you that I recently discovered that I am allergic to crab and shrimp? You know how hard it is to like Asian cuisine and be allergic to crab and shrimp??

It sucks. So I just had another pork chop bun. (Which was HKD$20 more expensive than the one we got near Margaret's huhu.)

J wanted to take me to the Macau Fisherman's Wharf. We lined up for a shuttle to Sands in Macau since the Wharf is right across the street from there. The shuttles are in the West Lobby of the Venetian. Yes, there is a West Lobby. Yes, just listen to me. (I insisted to J that I heard the concierge wrong, so we just headed to the Main Lobby. Mali pala. Heh. Sorry, J.)

When we got there, J said this was not the Wharf he knew from eight years ago.

Ah, development.

We took the free shuttle at Sands to the ferry terminal. Macau looked pretty at night, with all the lights from the casinos.
